Growing up as a musician in Cleveland was an exciting part of my youth. MTV and terrestrial radio influenced a large portion of my listening and exposed me to music i may not have found on my own. As a guitar player in my teens, I had similar aspirations like many do of becoming a professional musician and writing songs and touring the world. As I got older I found myself working live sound in music venues and recording in local studios with my band. The more music I recorded, the more I wanted to learn about what went on behind the glass in the recording studios. After completing an Associate of the Arts degree specializing in Music, I transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston to complete my Bachelors Degree in Music Production & Engineering.
My studies at Berklee set the stage for an exciting career in the music industry. While in college I not only studied music technology and professional audio but I was also educated in songwriting arranging and composition. These skills come in handy every day that I work with artists in the studio. Becoming a producer has been one of the most exciting parts of my life. Clients hire me to produce, record and mix their projects because they are confident that I will have an understanding of their vision and the skills to execute both creatively and sonically to deliver a finished product that they can be extremely proud of which is also competitive with todays music market. The music business is constantly changing and I focus on trends and the general music business to help my clients stay viable and sustain a working career in this business.
In 2003, I opened Lava Room Recording on Cleveland's westside. I have had the pleasure of working with an incredible amount of talented musicians and songwriters both locally as well as Major Label artists. For the last 14 years I have been Producing records in the styles of Rock, Pop, Alternative, Jazz, Metal, Folk and Country. In addition to Producing records I have scored music for documentaries, recorded voiceovers for video games, commercial audio for TV & ADR recording for Film.
